Blog or No Blog?!

Catherine and I no longer have an obligation to post on this Blog for school. We will, however, keep up the Blog if you ask us to! That's right! If you like hearing from us, all you have to do is post a comment down below asking for our blog to stay!

Why does this blog exist?

Welcome to our blog! We are High School Seniors at Arizona School for the Arts, and as seniors, we are taking part in a project called CBL. CBL stands for Challenge Based Learning. We, our senior class, found a challenge in our community and then came up with a way to address that challenge. Our challenge was to inspire others to recognize and embrace self-worth. Michaela and I found that self-worth is highly connected to how we perceive ourselves, as well as how we think we should be seen.

We decided that in order to address this issue, we should start with what people can control: their health. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is one of the main ways to maintain great self esteem. We can't control the compliments or criticisms that people give us, but we can control how we treat ourselves. By taking care of ourselves emotionally, mentally, and physically, we will ultimately feel better about ourselves and who we are.

We don't want this to be about physical appearance though. While we will talk about physical appearance and health, we are going to (attempt to) connect it to mental standing as well by addressing the mental benefits of exercise and a healthy diet so that it isn't all about "losing weight".

Also, a healthy diet does not mean a meal plan for two months. We're promoting a healthy lifestyle not a healthy binge.

We're learning along with you! We aren't professionals! We know the effects of low self-worth, and want to change it for ourselves as well as everyone else.
